1. Introduction
Welcome to 40 Minutes Fix.
40 Minutes Fix operates an online marketplace connecting customers with independent vendors, stores, sellers and service providers.
This Refund and Returns Policy explains how customers can report order problems, request returns, seek refunds and resolve disputes when purchasing through our platform.
Our goal is to promote fair transactions and protect both customers and vendors.
2. Contact the Vendor First
If you experience a problem with an order, we recommend contacting the relevant vendor first.
You should explain the problem and provide your order number and supporting evidence where available.
Examples include:
- The product received is damaged.
- The wrong product was delivered.
- The product does not match its description.
- The order is incomplete.
- The order has not arrived.
- The product is faulty or not working as described.
Vendors should respond reasonably and work with customers towards a fair resolution.
If the issue cannot be resolved directly, customers may contact 40 Minutes Fix for assistance.
3. Reasons for Requesting a Return or Refund
A customer may request a return, replacement or refund where appropriate if:
- The product arrives damaged or defective.
- The wrong item is supplied.
- The product is materially different from its advertised description.
- The order is incomplete.
- The vendor fails to fulfil an accepted order.
- A payment is successfully processed but the order is not fulfilled.
- Another valid reason exists under applicable consumer protection laws.
All requests will be assessed according to the circumstances, vendor arrangements and applicable law.
4. Return Conditions
Where a return is appropriate, the customer may be asked to:
- Provide the original order details.
- Explain the reason for the return.
- Supply photographs or other evidence of the problem.
- Follow the agreed return instructions.
- Return the product in a reasonable condition, taking account of the reported fault or damage.
Customers should not be required to return a defective or incorrect product at their own expense where applicable law or the circumstances require otherwise.
A vendor’s return conditions cannot remove consumer rights provided by law.
5. Items That May Require Special Assessment
Some products may require individual assessment before a return or refund decision.
Examples include:
- Electronic devices and accessories.
- Personal-care and hygiene products.
- Perishable goods.
- Customised or made-to-order products.
- Digital products or services.
- Products damaged after delivery through customer misuse.
These categories are not automatically excluded from legally required remedies.
6. Refund Process
Where a refund is approved:
- The relevant vendor and/or 40 Minutes Fix will confirm the refund decision.
- The customer will receive information about the approved refund.
- The refund will be processed through the appropriate payment or refund arrangement.
- The customer may be asked to provide information needed to verify the original transaction.
Refunds will generally be returned through the original payment method where possible.
Processing times may depend on the payment provider, financial institution and transaction method.
7. Paystack Payments
Payments made through Paystack are subject to the applicable payment-processing arrangements.
A successful payment does not automatically mean that a refund has been approved.
Where a refund is approved, the relevant transaction information will be used to process or coordinate the refund through the appropriate payment channel.
Customers should keep their transaction references and order confirmation details.
8. Delivery Problems
Customers should contact the vendor if:
- An order is delayed.
- A delivery has not arrived.
- The wrong delivery address was used.
- A parcel arrives damaged.
- An item is missing from a delivery.
The vendor should investigate the issue and communicate the next steps.
Where the vendor and customer cannot resolve the problem, 40 Minutes Fix may assist with reviewing the complaint.
9. Order Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel an order should contact the vendor as soon as possible.
Cancellation requests may depend on whether the vendor has accepted the order, prepared the item or dispatched it.
Where an order has not been fulfilled and cancellation is appropriate, a refund may be considered.
Cancellation rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
10. Service Provider Bookings
Service-provider listings may involve appointments, consultations, repairs, installations or other services.
Customers should agree on service descriptions, prices, appointment times and cancellation conditions directly with the service provider before proceeding.
If a service has not been provided, has been materially different from what was agreed, or a payment has been made without fulfilment, customers may contact the service provider first and then escalate unresolved complaints to 40 Minutes Fix.
Refund decisions will depend on the circumstances, agreed terms and applicable law.
11. Vendor Responsibilities
All vendors using 40 Minutes Fix are expected to:
- Provide accurate product descriptions and prices.
- Display genuine product photographs.
- Maintain accurate stock information.
- Communicate delivery arrangements.
- Respond to customer complaints reasonably.
- Handle valid return and refund requests fairly.
- Avoid misleading customers.
- Comply with applicable consumer protection laws.
Vendors must not use their own policies to remove rights that customers have under applicable law.
12. Escalating a Complaint to 40 Minutes Fix
If a customer cannot resolve an issue directly with a vendor, the customer may contact our support team.
Please provide:
- Your full name.
- Order number or transaction reference.
- Vendor or store name.
- A description of the problem.
- Relevant photographs, receipts or screenshots.
We may contact the vendor and review available transaction information to help resolve the complaint.
40 Minutes Fix may take appropriate action against vendors who repeatedly fail to meet marketplace requirements.
13. Refunds for Unfulfilled Orders
Where payment has been received but an order cannot be fulfilled, the customer may request a refund.
The relevant vendor and 40 Minutes Fix will review the circumstances and coordinate an appropriate resolution.
Customers should not be charged for products or services that were not supplied where a refund is legally due.
14. Fraudulent or Abusive Claims
We may investigate claims where there is reasonable evidence of fraud, abuse or deliberate misrepresentation.
Customers and vendors are expected to provide truthful information and cooperate with reasonable investigations.
This section does not restrict genuine customer complaints or lawful consumer rights.
15. Changes to This Policy
40 Minutes Fix may update this policy when marketplace operations, payment arrangements or legal requirements change.
The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date.
